Vintage Sewing Patterns

I'm a a big fan of Freecycle and a while ago I received a box of vintage sewing patterns. The first couple thet I looked at were kids costumes so I just put the whole box to the side to look at later. When I finally got around to it boy was I excited!!! Lookie:

But wait...there's more...

I can't wait to get started with sewing these, some of the patterns were used but you can tell the previous owner took very good care of them.

Decisions...decisions

Today I'm trying to make up my mind on which combination would work best for my next project.
I am making a pencil skirt with a black lace overlay....do I go with grey or hot pink for the background?

Option 1

Option 2

Thanks to Zoe I have been keeping busy preparing my wardrobe for Me-Made-March

I recently made a couple of garments for my wardrobe.
The first is an unlined grey jacket with black satin piping on the collar and sleeves.

I added 2 bound buttons to the front opening

Since it I didn't line the jacket I bound the seams (Hong Kong finish)

I also made a linen shirt dress with wood buttons...I love shirt dresses because they are so timeless.

I added a self tie belt, I would probably wear it with a contrasting belt though.

Me-Made-March '11

Hi All!

Sewing can be quite lonely so I have decided to blog and stay in touch with others out there with whom I have stuff in common.

I will start of by joining the  Me-Made-March '11 challenge. I had better get a move on and start making some clothes for myself, I'm always sewing but it's usually for someone else. I think this will be awesome!!
